GOS 1.5


Yo. What's up..


So anyways lets hop into it.

I've decided to record all major changes between last build and this one. This is to primarily cover my ass in case anyone thinks barely anything's been added.  Good thing I don't have to worry about that, because nobody is playing my game to begin with!

*Cue sad song*

- Fixed Spirit Patch spell not properly granting armor.

- Fixed spells occasionally not visually showing damage against armor.

- Fixed Tremor Stomp not applying "Hit" animation on enemy.

- Fixed Ridge Passive not applying "Hit" animation on enemy.

- Continued Torch visual improvements

- Added Relics!

- Fixed issue where selected spell during battle would sometimes disappear. (This one is a little persistent.)

- Updated Wound Wrap spell tooltip. (Previously, the tooltip mentioned it curing ailments on base form. I smashed it with the nerf hammer. It now only cures ailments when you Style Win.)

- Additionally Fixed Wound Wrap to no longer heal when the opponent blocks. (As intended).

- Mixery and shops now open when pressing the 'Z' key next to them. (A bit annoying having to remember what opens with Z, and what opens with a mouse click. This should help homogenize it).

- Updated Jia and Brada Sprite

- Updated House Sprites

- Updated Backgrounds

- Continued Lighting Improvements

- Added QOL changes in battle to improve game feel. (Including wide-screen camera cuts and button squashing/stretching.)

- Added widescreen camera cuts to overworld dialog as well.

-  Continued improvement on Zoom zones, (areas that zoom the camera closer to player).

- Added a squash and stretch to bounce moles.

- Finally added a Pause/Quit menu. This menu also has a controls section, a small writeup on all controls and what they do as well as a return to town button. (The pause menu, like other menus, will be improved over time.)

- Fixed some UI where the background would protrude through.

- Updated Block Tooltip

- Updated In battle casted spellcard UI

- Added Spores and insects to the overworld

- All items updated to no longer float in the air and instead, bounce like tennis balls.

- Updated Power Punch residue.

- Updated Rock Rain spell.

- Bleed and Tox dialog now properly reads during battle. (Should've done rust as well, but that'll be fixed for next build).

- Updated SharpStone spell tooltip

- Updated Welsie and Fia Jump animations.

- Updated Main Menu!


Not bad huh. As I reach closer to release, new features will start slowing down and instead, I'll be focusing solely on content. As always, I'll briefly discuss what I have planned next.

Relics are in the game, the next step is to add a relic maker.

Distillery. I've talked briefly about the Distillery in the past. Honestly, I'm not going to talk much about it now because I'm a little tired and this write up is starting to get long again, but it's a relatively simple system that should add a little more reward for players.

Apart from this, I want to add other small features like fishing and mining, but these aren't the priority, so they'll come a little later down the line.

Sound will be my next focus.

I have a few more ideas up my sleeve that will really turn this battle system up, but again, I'm getting tired of talking.

I heard people don't even read devlog anymore, they just go to Twitter to watch quick 10 second progress videos. So I'll be retiring these devlogs soon. But this will always be a nice thing for me to look back on. Anyways love y'all. See y'all in two.
